The year 2005 saw the inaugural HEFMA 2004 Benchmarking Report. This report is the culmination of a significant team effort between HEFMA and TEFMA (the Tertiary Education Facilities Management Association from Australasia).
Our TEFMA colleagues truly went the extra mile to make this report possible. These reports concentrated on the total operational costs of buildings by benchmarking five operational areas, namely building maintenance, grounds maintenance, cleaning and waste management, energy and security.

As part of the infrastructure support offered by the Department of Higher Education and Training (the Department) to the institutions, the Minister approved for all 50 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges, a once-off funding allocation for 3-year membership of the Higher Education Facilities Management Association (HEFMA).
