Campus library assesses service, resources and environment

The Vaal Triangle Campus Library recently joined more than 1 200 libraries worldwide in assessing its services, resources and environment by means of the LibQUAL+® survey.  Libraries use this survey to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality.

According to Mrs Hendra Pretorius, Library Manager, the web-based survey helps libraries to improve library services, change organisational culture, and ultimately contribute towards the marketing of the library. She explains that the goals of LibQUAL+® are to: foster a culture of excellence in providing library services; better understand user perceptions; collect and interpret library user feedback; identify best practices in library services and enhancing library staff members’ analytical skills for interpreting and acting on data.

Staff and Students of the Vaal Triangle Campus (NWU Vaal) took part in the survey – which ran from 13-24 October 2014, and by doing so stood the chance to win several prizes including a digital camera, external hard drives and a printer.
