SU in need of Facilities Coordinator

The incumbent is responsible to ensure that the facilities on the Sport Campus are in an acceptable and working order at all times. This person must also ensure that all facilities are serviced and delivered in the condition requested by the Administrative Officer that handles facility bookings.

This includes the preparation of and control over facilites (cleaning, equipment needed, etc.).

  •     Relevant post-secondary qualification
  •     Proven computer literacy in MS Office and the Internet
  •     Good discernment
  •     Proven organisational ability
  •     Good communication skills with collegues, authorative figures and subordinates as well as SU clients
  •     The ability to notice and record defects
  •     Willingness to work flexible hours, which includes working shifts if necessary
  •     Knowledge of buildings and sports facilities.


    Previous technical and supervisory experience in a maintenance or facilites environment (minimum 3 years').

Job Specification


  •     Reporting of defects and needs at the helpdesk
  •     Continuous monitoring of the condition of the facilities (in and outdoors) and the performance of weekly condition audits
  •     Coordinating of schedules of visitors, suppliers and artisans that visit the facilities for the reason of delivering facilities services and the communication of the needed schedules to the parties or environments concerned
  •     Performance of condition determination of facilities and providing leadership during the coordination of functions up to the completion of tasks
  •     Management of client requests and enquiries regarding repair and dealing with the communication with the relevant parties
  •     Ensuring that the maintenance of the swimming pools (inside and outside) are conducted according to the desired standards
  •     Reporting to the Facilities Manager regarding the management of sportsfields and associated facilities
  •     Assistance with the continuous monitoring of the service levels of contractors and reporting in this regard
  •     Performance of basic, accurate reporting.
