Bad weather affects UJ library

Due to the heavy rains that a major part of South Africa experienced over the past few weeks, a leak developed in an area of the roof on the second floor of the Auckland Park Campus Library of the University of Johannesburg, causing parts of the roofing to collaps.

On the 12th of March at about 7 pm,  parts of a ceiling panel in the affected area collapsed, hitting some students and causing some minor damage to its collection.

The university immediately arranged to take the student to a local hospital where it was established that the student did not sustain serious injuries and was discharged after only a few hours later.

The university immediately embarked on the necessary repairs to ensure the safety of staff and students in the library.
